Ministries
- Music Ministry
Music is an important element of our community worship. If you have a love of music, find joy in singing, or you are experienced in music, please consider joining our music ministry. Our music is orchestrated with live instruments during Mass, under the talented direction of our music directors. Music practice is held between 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the two last Sundays of the month of our Igbo Mass. - Eucharistic Adoration
The blessed sacrament is exposed and adored by the congregation immediately after mass and is presided by one of our priests..
- Financial Council
Our financial council oversees our financial matters, they are responsible for offertory collections, monitoring all incomes and expenses, providing us with monthly updates on our financial status as well as prepare our annual account summary report.
- Altar Server
Our young boys and girls assist the priest at liturgy, if your child is interested in this essential service, please contact the Coordinator Servant Sir Chika Ezeani during the Igbo mass or by Tel#: (872) 203-2770
- Baptism Preparation
If you need baptism whether adults, children, or infants, please contact our chaplain, Fr. Stan Chu Ilo, 708-415-3920 to guide you on the process.
- Eucharistic Minister
Our community is blessed with devoted communion personnel who administer communion during mass and for the sick upon request.
- Stations of the Cross
Since we do not have our own permanent place of worship, our members join Corpus Christi catholic church on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. during lent for stations of the cross. Address: 615 E. Oakwood Blvd., Chicago, IL 60653
- Usher
We have elected and volunteers who assist people to their seats and help during communion. They also help with the offertory collection. If you are interested in helping with this service, please contact coordinating Servant Tel#: (872) 203-2770.
- Lectors
These are readers who read the scriptures at mass and other services. If you are interested in this service, please contact the coordinating Lector during Igbo Mass Mrs. Uche Ezechukwu 773-709-4326.
- Sacristan
Is responsible for preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar after Mass.
- Sunday School
We provide catechism in Igbo for children during Sunday services on the last two Sundays of the month. Children get to meet one another as well.
- Retreat
Our annual retreat is usually held towards the end of lent. It is organized by our parish priest. Its purpose is for us to reflect on our relationship with God and redirect our steps towards God.
- Annual Bazaar
Igbo Catholic Community hosts an annual Thanksgiving and Bazaar on the last Sunday of each October. This helps us to raise money towards acquiring a permanent place of worship. If you want to support this project, click here to send your kind donations.

- Christmas/End-of-the-Year Party
Every year, we organize Christmas/End-of-the-year party for the community, and we present our young ones with Christmas gifts.
- Annual Mother’s Day Celebration
This is a day we celebrate with our mother Mary. As the mother of the church, we attach ourselves to her to help us in lifting the church up. We will also use that day to crown Her with beautiful of roses. Mother of God please help us to be good mothers like you.
This day also our men usually pamper our women with delicious food, drinks, and presents. Women usually look forward to it.

- Socializing
On the last Sunday of the month, join us for traditional Nigerian food after Mass. This is an opportunity to get to know one another and socialize. You can also check us out on our social media page (Facebook) for some of our social pictures.
